Settlement Online Pre-Arrival (SOPA) is a program for people living outside of Canada who have been approved by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to immigrate to Canada.
Resources and courses are offered free of charge and include one-on-one orientation, job search support and workplace culture training, as well as referrals to a wide range of post-arrival services upon entry to Canada. An English level of 5.5 or higher (IELTS) and access to a computer and high-speed internet are required to receive these services.
This program is funded by IRCC, and for Atlantic Canada, including Prince Edward Island, it is offered by the Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia.
